Marconi Barbosa

Marconi Barbosa brings us a retrospective body of works which has greatly influenced him in his new artistic tendencies through the Abstract and the Expressionism, displaying maturity in the choice of colors and subjects. While experimenting with Cubism, he reflects the Brazilian creative spirit in the joy of living, either through music in social gatherings and in traditional celebrations, or in children's playgrounds and in metropolises impregnated with vast choices of leisure amid hostile behavior and lack of communication. Marconi strongly questions his people's dilemmas on the play of survival, either depicting power struggles or intricacies in sexuality that has been shown in art telling the history of mankind. He puts in evidence what life is all about: the search of its meaning through accepting one's own sexuality.
